History of Van de Wetering
In 1921, at the age of twenty, Henk van de Wetering founded Van de Wetering Transport.
Henk was an enterprising and hardworking young man. From early morning until late at night, he devoted himself to a wide range of activities. He worked in the stables, traded pigs and also ran a taxi business.
After the war, his son Nico joined the family business. In the mornings, he worked as a lorry driver, transporting pigs to the slaughterhouse. In the afternoons, he drove a taxi.
Nico became a familiar figure in the broadcasting world and enjoyed telling stories about the famous artists and performers he had driven in his taxi. Around 1950, Van de Wetering was also involved in transporting hay, straw and peas.
What began as a versatile business gradually developed into a family-owned company with a strong and distinctive identity.
